Possible Causes :
Error "8506,421" occurs due to communication failure between the product and the licensing server when validating the license. The communication with that server can be interfered with by a threat, or a third-party security product. This error can also be caused by a corrupted file in the licensing component during upgrade. In these cases, removing the contents of the licensing folder should fix the problem.
Delete content of Licensing folder and rename file
Start the computer in safe mode.
Depending on your version of Windows, delete the contents of the folder.
Do not delete the folder. Delete only the contents of the folder
Restart the computer in normal mode.
Navigate to the following path:
C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Engine\20.x
Rename the symhtmdx.dll file to symhtmdx_old.dll
Restart the computer.
